Appellant Parker, a shipyard worker employed by Dravo Corporation at its repair facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, filed an action in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana seeking to recover damages for personal injuries received aboard the coal and molasses barge J-9, owned by appellee Cargill, Inc.
