DALTON, Chief Judge.

On May 31, 1955, Moses Crawford, petitioner, was tried on three counts of robbery in one consolidated trial held in the Circuit Court of Albemarle County. At the trial, Crawford was represented by counsel engaged by Crawford's parents and entered an initial plea of not guilty.
