William Snowden sued O. V. Olivier to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by him on December 16, 1964. Snowden was an employee of a general contractor, M. L. Osborne, who was in charge of construction work on a bank building in Jefferson County. Olivier was a subcontractor employed to do the plastering work on the building.
