On August 15, 1961, the State of Louisiana, through the Department of Highways, filed this action to expropriate 32.825 acres of land from the defendants in connection with the construction of Interstate Highway No. 20 through Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. This parcel of land was part of a total tract of 52.525 acres owned by defendants in the corporate limits of West Monroe, Louisiana.
