Denials by the District Court of two motions for continuance of defendant's trial are the only grounds asserted for reversing his conviction of bank robbery. 18 U.S.C. § 2113(d).

The first continuance was sought on the day of arraignment by an attorney who had been contacted by defendant's mother and who represented to the court that if the mother could arrange for his fee, he would need some time to familiarize himself with the case. Noting...
