Defendant, Martin Cardwell, Jr., was indicted for the theft of a 1966 Ford Mustang automobile in Kingsport, Tennessee, and bringing the stolen automobile into this State, in violation of § 19.1-220, Code of 1950, as amended, 1960 Repl.Vol. Defendant was tried and found guilty by a jury on July 6, 1966, and his punishment fixed at seven years in the State penitentiary.
