ELLETT, Justice:

The appellant was convicted by a jury of the crime of voluntary manslaughter. By this appeal he seeks his release from prison because he claims he did not have a speedy trial; and should he fail to convince this court of that claim, he asks that his conviction be reversed because two gruesome pictures were entered into evidence.

One Bertha Magera was sexually mutilated and killed on February 27, 1965. The next day appellant was arrested and...
