This is a wrongful death action. The plaintiff is Dominic S. Dupre who filed this suit individually, as the "widow" (she later conceded there was no formal marriage but contends there was a common-law marriage in Mississippi, Texas or Oklahoma) of Murphy Dupre, Jr., and in her capacity as tutrix of her minor child, Donald Ray Dupre.
