This suit is one in condemnation for land taken by the plaintiff for the improvement of U.S. Highway 71. The land of the defendants Grounds was a tract of 24.7 acres just south of the south city limits of Harrisonville on the west side of Highway 71. The tract was generally rectangular, the longer dimensions running east and west, except that a smaller (5 acre) rectangle had been cut out of the northwest corner.
