In August 1964, following a jury trial, defendants were found guilty on various counts contained in an indictment charging them with wire and mail fraud in the procurement of loans from the Teamsters Union Pension Fund, and of conspiracy to commit the substantive offenses stated. 18 U.S.C. §§ 1341, 1343, 371.
