Plaintiff, a marine carpenter employed by Pierside Repairs, Inc., was shoring cargo in the upper 'tween deck of the No. 2 hold of SS Flying Spray, owned by defendant American Export Isbrandtsen Lines, Inc., when he met with an accident and sustained injuries.
