We begin with a crime on a street in Inchon, Korea. This Court's concern, however, is not with the criminal act itself, but with the medical consequences of that act and, more specifically, with the standard of care owed by a shipping company to a seaman injured while in its employ. Proceedings brought under the Jones Act1 in the district court resulted in a judgment for the seaman and against the shipping company...
