TAYLOR, Justice.

James B. Polson was convicted and adjudged guilty of assault with intent to murder, a felony,1 and of being a persistent violator.2 He was sentenced to a term of 14 years imprisonment in the penitentiary for the crime of assault with intent to murder, and to an additional 10 years on his conviction of recidivism.
