On Monday, June 5, 1961 the Arizona State Treasurer's office was robbed of approximately $2,100. Shortly after the robbery, the State filed complaints against the appellant, Abedon Saiz, and two alleged accomplices. One of these accomplices, Vernon Mahan, was tried and convicted.
