This appeal presents the question whether a transfer of funds in the sum of $60,675 by the decedent, Walter W. Findley, to his wife, Erin, was made in contemplation of death and taxable pursuant to KRS 140.010 and 140.020. The transfer was held by the Department of Revenue to be a gift made in contemplation of death. The executrix of the estate of Walter W. Findley then appealed to the Kentucky Tax Commission where an informal hearing was held...
