Adams, plaintiff in a divorce proceeding brought in Carroll County, Iowa, against his wife, Betty Delores Adams, filed a petition for a writ of certiorari in this court alleging the trial court exceeded its jurisidiction and acted illegally in finding him in contempt of court and in sentencing him to six months in jail for failure to make child support payments as ordered under the following circumstances:
