On September 17, 1964, the defendant entered a plea of guilty in the Circuit Court of Scott County and a judgment was rendered convicting him of statutory rape. He was sentenced to eight years in the custody of the department of corrections and has since then been confined. On October 27, 1965, he filed a motion under S.Ct. Rule 27.26, V.A.M.R. to vacate and set aside the judgment and sentence and counsel was appointed to represent him as an indigent...
