Seven misdemeanor parking violations (San Francisco Municipal Traffic Code, §§ 32(a), 32(b) and 32(c)) were charged against petitioner. He demanded jury trial, elected to represent himself, and consumed five days in trial. The jury convicted him on all counts. He filed notice of appeal. He made no attempt to secure a settled statement of the oral proceedings but moved in the trial court for a reporter's transcript supplied at public expense...
