This is an appeal from judgment after a directed verdict for plaintiff, and from an order denying defendant's motion for a new trial in a mortgage foreclosure proceeding.

1. The status of defendant's appeal is, at the outset, not free from doubt. So far as appears from the record, judgment was never entered. The motion for a new trial was not properly noticed, although the trial court in denying the motion overruled plaintiff...
