The action which gave rise to this appeal was brought by Frank C. Bruce, Jr., the plaintiff, against Grace M. Madden, the defendant, to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by the plaintiff when the automobile in which he was a passenger was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by the defendant.
