The plaintiffs, by petition for writ of mandamus, seek to compel the Secretary of State to print upon the ballot for the election to be held on November 5, 1968 the names of Eugene J. McCarthy and John V. Lindsay, under the designation "Electors of President and Vice President of the United States." RSA 59:3. The petition alleges that the defendant seeks to justify his refusal to print the names in question upon the ground that requests were made to him...
