Defendants were sentenced on November 29, 1965, by a Jackson county circuit judge with court-appointed counsel present, to 10 to 20 years following their pleas of guilty to a charge of kidnapping a prison guard. At the time of the offense, these defendants were inmates at the State prison, serving life sentences.
