Plaintiff filed a two-count complaint. In the first count, he asserted a cause of action against the defendants as owners and operators of a dramshop. This count alleged that the defendants caused the intoxication, in whole or in part, of one William Reed and that Reed, while so intoxicated, assaulted the plaintiff.
