On September 20, 1959, Jessie Liles, a brakeman employed by Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company was injured while in the process of switching a freight car. The car being switched belonged to Missouri Pacific Railroad Company and had been delivered by its owner to Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company for transportation to its destination at a point on the latter's lines.
