One Friday evening in March 1966, Richard Parker, then 18, took the family car from East Prairie to New Madrid, "just riding around." On the way to New Madrid he acquired a number of teen-age passengers, among whom were Donald Carlyle and Brenda Jimmerson. During the course of the evening, Richard stopped at a "restaurant and cafe, like," and went inside "to use the bathroom." He either asked Donald to "take the car to the corner" or drive...
