BROWN, Justice.

We are here concerned with the custody of a four-year-old boy, Mark Edward Gann. The Sieberts, appellants here, obtained an interlocutory order of adoption. Mark's mother (who had abandoned the child at birth) entered her appearance in that proceeding and gave her consent. However, Josephine Benson, appellee, with whom Mark had resided continuously since birth, was not a party to the proceeding. A few weeks after the adoption Mrs. Benson intervened...
