POWERS, Justice.

These are three appeals from identical judgments entered in two separate civil actions which were consolidated for trial to a superior court justice sitting without a jury. The circumstances out of which the litigation arose lend substance to the common belief that there are instances where fact is barely, if at all, more credible than fiction.
