Plaintiff, Hubert James Putt, was convicted on his plea of guilty to a charge of violating 18 U.S.C. § 2312.1 He was committed to the custody of the Attorney General for study and observation [18 U.S.C. § 4208(b) and (c)] and subsequently was given an indeterminate sentence pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 4208(a) (2), fixing the maximum sentence of imprisonment at five years.
