Defendant appeals from a conviction for escaping jail (K.S.A. 21-736). Having been convicted of two prior felonies he was sentenced to life imprisonment (K.S.A. 21-107a).

While defendant was being held in Shawnee county on criminal charges of burglary and larceny he escaped custody. He was apprehended and later convicted on the burglary and larceny charges. (See State v. Eaton,
