Margie Gates and Charles Gates were married to each other on the 18th day of May, 1948. Born of this marriage were four children; three boys and one girl. Margie and Charles separated in May 1964, and in July 1964, Margie sued Charles for a divorce. The complaint alleged cruel and inhuman treatment but no answer was filed.
