The issue here is whether one may lawfully sell legally acquired alcoholic liquors in South Carolina, or have the same in possession for sale, without a license from the State to do so.

The plaintiff, Pirates' Cove is a South Carolina Corporation, having been issued a charter by the State in February 1966, "to own and/or operate various types of clubs or restaurants or places...
