On November 26, 1948, James Thomas Nolan was convicted in the Circuit Court of Fauquier County of armed robbery and murder of Belmont Woodbridge, and on December 10, 1948, he was sentenced to twenty years and life imprisonment in the penitentiary for robbery and murder, respectively.
