Defendant was accused in two counts of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury upon peace officers, in violation of section 245, subdivision (b), of the Penal Code. He pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. In a nonjury trial, upon the plea of not guilty he was found guilty on both counts; and in the trial upon the other plea he was found not guilty by reason of insanity...
