In March of 1963, defendant was convicted, on his plea of guilty, of armed robbery1 and was sentenced to imprisonment for 12-1/2 to 25 years. Two years later we granted defendant's application for leave to appeal his conviction and ordered that the appeal be presented directly to this Court.
