Plaintiff Crawford, a guest of defendant Palomar's tenant, brought an action to recover for permanent injuries which she allegedly sustained when the outside porch railing of a single dwelling owned by the defendant collapsed under her weight and she fell off the porch to the ground. The dwelling is located in the city of Detroit and was occupied solely by defendant's tenant. The complaint alleged:
