The wife of a prominent Laurens County attorney was murdered in the town of Clinton, South Carolina, on August 23, 1963. The mutilated and ravished body of Mrs. Justin Bridges was left by her assailant on the floor of her husband's auxiliary law office. There was no eyewitnesses. At the April, 1965, term of the Court of General Sessions for Greenwood County, the appellant, Willie James Bell, a Negro, was tried for murder...
