It appears that plaintiffs' predecessors in title owned a 250-acre farm (known as the Shekell farm) located in the Town of Hopewell, Ontario County, north of a farm (known as the Buchan farm) purchased prior to the year 1900 by the defendant Village of Clifton Springs, and that upon the latter farm were situated several springs which constituted the source and headwaters of a stream of water...
