The official canvass gave Stentz 18,192 votes, Drolet 17,989, and Stentz was certified as the duly elected State's Attorney of Kankakee County by a margin of 203 votes. In the court recount, the trial court rejected the entire vote in the second precinct in Pembroke Township, 88 votes in another precinct and 13 votes in a third precinct.
