SUTTON, Justice.

Lawson Palmer, plaintiff in error, was charged with having procured an unlawful abortion and with conspiracy to procure an abortion. He will be referred to herein by name or as the defendant. Palmer pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity to both charges. The crimes allegedly occurred on January 29, 1962, but there was considerable delay in bringing Palmer to trial due to reasons not connected with the legal proceedings here. See Palmer...
