The petitioner, Clifford G. Small, III, was convicted by a jury at the September 1964 Term of the Cumberland County, Maine Superior Court, of the crime of robbery. He was sentenced to 7½ to 15 years imprisonment in the Maine State Prison, and is presently in respondent's custody serving that sentence.
