ROBERTSON, Justice:

The defendant, Gerald Henry Irving, has appealed to this Court from the judgment of the Circuit Court of Harrison County, sentencing him to death for the murder of Hazel K. Nixon (Mrs. Walter Nixon, Sr.).

In the early morning hours of Friday, November 19, 1965, Mrs. Hazel K. Nixon was stabbed to death in her home at 316 Bass Street, Biloxi, Mississippi. She was stabbed 6 times: 5 times in the front and principally in her chest and 1 time...
