BUCHANAN, Justice.

Clara Hardy, plaintiff, brought this action for damages against Maggie Catherine Greene, defendant, for personal injuries resulting from an automobile collision. A jury returned a verdict in her favor for $8,500, which the trial court set aside on the ground that it was "excessive and shocks the conscience of the Court." The court then put the plaintiff "on terms" to accept $4,000 and entered judgment for her in that amount, from which she has appealed...
