The State of Louisiana, through the Department of Highways, expropriated for highway purposes a portion of a tract of land owned by the defendant, Emmett LeDoux. Pursuant to the provisions of LSA-R.S. 48:441-445, the State deposited $3675.00 with the clerk of court as just compensation for the property taken.
