On November 18, 1964, four officers of the Detroit police department responded to a complaint that defendant had stolen some paint. On the basis of the description given by the complainant, three of the officers pursued the defendant, arrested him and returned to the scene of the crime. One of the officers remained at the scene taking information, and upon the return of the defendant with the other officers...
