New England Electric System (NEES) is a holding company registered under § 5 of the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935.1 Its holdings include both electric and gas utility properties. The electric companies serve retail customers in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The gas companies serve retail customers in Massachusetts alone.
