This is an equitable action in which the plaintiff seeks a decree of specific performance to enforce an option to buy certain real property. The option to buy is contained in a lease. The defense is two-pronged and, by its nature, in the alternative: (1) the lease and option are invalid; and (2) defendants and intervenor are entitled to be paid, under the doctrine of subrogation, for certain liens against the property...
