The plaintiff was a letter carrier regularly employed by the United States post office department. On April 18, 1963, he was engaged in making a delivery of mail to a one-family house at 68 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Bridgeport, which was owned by the defendants, husband and wife, and occupied by them and their family. It appears to have been undisputed that the defendants maintained a mailbox at the front door...
