On April 18, 1963, a 17-foot 1960 model fiberglass boat hull belonging to Frank Rancatore was totally destroyed by fire at the premises of defendant Evans where it had been left by its owner for the purpose of having Evans change motors in the boat and paint the bottom. Rancatore filed this suit against Evans and his alleged liability insurer in solido to recover the value of the boat, $2000, plaintiff pleading the doctrine of res ipsa loquitur. Evans...
