An Essex County Grand Jury returned two murder indictments against defendant Clarence Billingsley. One charged him with killing Rosetta Lucas on March 5, 1964; the other with killing Donna Adams on the same day. Since the murders occurred in the same place as part of a single incident the indictments were consolidated for trial.
