MR. JUSTICE McCORMICK delivered the opinion of the court.

Sebron Beard, defendant, was indicted for murder. The case was tried before a jury in the Criminal Court of Cook County. The jury rendered a verdict finding the defendant guilty. His motions for a mistrial, for a directed verdict, for a new trial, and in arrest of judgment were overruled. Judgment was entered on the verdict and he was sentenced to a term of 50 years in the state penitentiary. He brought a writ...
